Bahria Town (Private) Limited, Asia’s leading developer of real estate, negotiated a separate and dedicated interchange on M-9 Motorway by entering into an agreement with FWO (Frontier Works Organization) and its subsidiary Superhighway Construction Operation and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited (SCORE) to build an interchange on M-9 Motorway at Bahria Town Scheme. The construction costs of this mega project will be borne by Bahria Town.
Opening Ceremony Of Interchange M-9
Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain and Bahria Town VCE South Zain Malik will be present at the opening ceremony that will be attended by the top management of both sides.
“It will be held on 14th February 2020 Friday at 3 PM sharply. The venue is Gate House.”
As per the construction and development, Bahria Town will create a very complex entrance and exit plaza consisting of 2 bridges, 3 underpasses and a carriageway. This project will supplement the state-of-the-art road network in Bahria Town which is also influenced by Sheik Zayed Road Dubai, which also includes 400 feet wide 18-lane Jinnah Avenue.
Chairman Bahria Town Malik Riaz Hussain said the agreement was another step for Bahria Town towards upholding its commitment to the country to provide partly with the modern world, world-class housing societies with amenities and infrastructures. Bahria Town Karachi’s construction of the interchange and associated infrastructure works would greatly improve the quality of life and ease of transportation of Karachi residents.
Development Of M-9 Interchange
Construction on the M-9 Interchange and associated facilities will begin immediately after completion of the requisite building regulatory approvals. On completion, the scheme will not only assist Bahria Town’s commuters, but will also be a blessing for travelers in general.
The complex would give the general public easy access to the restaurants, comforts, outdoor leisure facilities and the urban architecture style that Bahria Town Karachi has to offer.
Bahria Town recently constructed a flyover and underpass completely at its own cost in Clifton. In fact, Bahria Town also worked to clean up the town’s trash.
The motorway will be 136 km from each direction and will include 3 lanes. The scheme would cut down on the travel time between Karachi and Hyderabad. Complete motorway project will consist of:
- 136 km 6 Lane facility.
- 275 Km 2x Lane Service Road on either side.
- 4-8 Interchanges.
- Karachi and Hyderabad Toll Plazas into 24 lane facilities.
- Introduce Weigh Stations on new interchanges to examine overloading.
- Construction of 2 Service Areas.
- Construction of 2 Trauma Centres.
M-9 is an expansion of the current Karachi-Hyderabad Super Highway by adding an additional lane on each side as well as a complete re-surfacing of the route.
Advantages of Bahria Town Karachi Interchange
Construction will begin on the proposed interchange for Bahria Town Karachi once the project is formally approved by the authorities. It is important to note here that FWO’s option, as the contractor for the interchange project is a masterstroke by Bahria Town (Pvt.) Ltd as the firm was also engaged in the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway development. The construction company will be ideally suited to completing the project taking into account the project’s traditional climate, topography and logistical challenges.
Completing a new interchange for Bahria Town Karachi on the Karachi-Hyderabad motorway will be very beneficial. It will not only provide an easy approach to the main artery leading into Karachi City for Bahria Town Karachi locals, but it will also help popular Karachi masses enjoy Bahria Town Karachi’s landmarks and attractions. Karachi people can visit world-class landmarks more often, such as the Grand Jamia Mosque, the Rafi Cricket Ground, Bahria Paradise Central Park and the International Theme Park.
Bahria Town Karachi is the highest and most modern private immovable community living initiative in Pakistan’s history.
