What is Gwadar Importance?
Gwadar is a seaport city on the southwestern coast of Balochistan, Pakistan. The city is located on the beaches of the Arabian Sea opposite to Oman. Before 1958 Gawadar was in possession of Oman, about 120 km southwest of Turbat. Chabahar in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province is about 170 kilometers to the west of Gwader.
In April 2015, Pakistan and China publicized their plan to develop the $46 billion China, Pakistan Economic Corridor, which became famous as with nick name (CPEC).
Which latter turn forms part of China’s ambitious One Belt, One Road. In Gwadar $1.153 billion worth of infrastructure projects will be invested into the city as part of CPAC, with the aim of linking northern Pakistan and western China to the deep water seaport.
